ARE HUMANS SPECIAL?
Debate between Recife, Argentina, Chile and London.

In Brazil, the first Café Scientifique in this series took place on October 23, 2008, during the National Science and Technology Week, and had about 30 participants in Recife. The British Council’s offices in Chile and Argentina had 30 more students and teachers, but it was quite visible that they had similar ideas, despite the differences between their countries and cultures. They really believe that Charles Darwin’s evolutionary ideas remain updated and present in our lives.

The debate was very interesting and the audiences interacted and exchanged ideas in a very relaxed way. The speaker, Daniel Glaser, has raised two questions for the audiences to consider: “Are we still evolving?” and “Do we have the right to do with other species anything we want?”.
