Following on from the success of the 2008 summit we held once again, in partnerships with the Natural History Museum, an International Student Summit in 2009. The theme was Darwin and Evolutionary Science and this reflected the influential legacy and far-reaching scope of Charles Darwin’s theories and work.
The student summit took place from 30 June to 2 July 2009, a 3-day summit programme of speakers. We brought again around 60 students from around the world to participate in the event and two young girls, Aline e Raquel, represented Brazil.
Aline e Raquel were selected in a National Competition. They had to pass through 3 phases of selection and interviews and were selected by a final board composed by Ildeu de Castro Moreira (MCT), Roseli de Deus Lopes (Estação Ciência), Rejane Lira (UFBAand Roberta Kacowicz (British Council).
