| In 1992, as a professor of Commercial Law at PUC/Pr, I was graced with a scholarship from the British Council to participate in a Master’s course (LLM) in International Commercial Law at Queen Mary and Westfield College (University of London). The personal and academic experience obtained during this period (1992/93) was exceptional. I was able to go deeper into my studies on commercial arbitrage when Brazil didn’t even have a modern law on the theme, nor had ratified the principal international conventions. Upon returning, I was able to collaborate on the legislative evolution and institutional doctrine on arbitrage in Brazil. Today, I continue to be extremely involved with the theme of arbitrage and mediation, teaching the discipline of arbitrage in some university post-graduate programs. Finally, I accompany, with satisfaction, the consolidation of the important method of conflict resolution in Brazil and can see a solid future for its utilization. |
