The Turning-point: Climate Security Seen from Different Angles

For many years we have been promoting projects which raise awareness of the population, regarding the impact of climate changes. In view of that, the British Council and SOPEG invited professors Jacques Ribemboim, Geber Barbosa and Lia Giraldo da Silva to participate in the roundtable on Security and Climate Change, facilitated by Mariluce Zepter.

The debate took place in Recife and it was transmitted live via internet. Professionals in the area of health, academics, students and members of the community in general attended the event. Those who were unable to be at the British Council premises in Recife could watch the presentations, from their homes or offices, at no additional cost. Around 100 people from all over the country as well as from other countries watched the event and were able to interact with the speakers.
