The 2006 series of events promoted by the Association of British Alumni – ABA, in Rio de Janeiro, will be kick-started with a presentation on Sport Marketing, by Leonardo Gryner, Head of Marketing Director of COB (the Brazilian Olympic Committee.
During the event, a video will be shown and the British Council will give a summary on the bid made by London for the 2012 Olympics. There will be a cocktail after the presentation.

Leonardo Gryner, 52, is currently the Managing Director of Olympo Marketing e Licenciamento, who are responsible for the marketing affairs of the Brazilian Olympic Committee and the Organising Committee for the 2007 Pan-American Games.
With a BA in Mathematics from PUC-RJ and a Masters degree in Computer Sciences from IME, Leonardo has considerable experience in the areas of marketing and journalism related to sport. He worked for TV Globo for 16 years, where he was in charge of negotiating the broadcasting rights for all sports events covered by that network in the period from 1983 to 1990.
In the 90’s, Leonardo was involved in the organisation of several sports events, such as the Havana Pan American Games (1991) and the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. He founded a Marketing company that provided services to various Sports Confederations and took part in the Rio Olympic Games Committee which made the bid for the 2004 Olympic Games.
