PRESENTER
Prof.Dr. Gilberto Almeida Martins, who is a specialist on subjects related to information security.

CYBER LAW
The objective of the presentation is to discuss the various changes that have taken place in the legal scenario with regards to Information Security, as well as the applicable quality directives and regulations. The presenter will also talk about aspects that affect our daily lives, such as the rights and obligations regarding e-mail marketing, electronic fraud, online breach of intellectual property, the validity of doing exams via email, among others.

ABOUT PROF DR. GILBERTO MARTINS
Prof.Dr.Gilberto Martins is a lawyer, graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1979-1983); holds a Masters degree on Economic and Financial Law from  Universidade de São Paulo (1996-2000) and is the founding partner of  Martins de Almeida – Advogados, firm of lawyers specialized in Cyber law, set up in 1996.

Senior lecturer on Cyber Law at PUC/RJ since 1996 (having been responsible for introducing this discipline at universities in Brazil), Gilberto Martins has also been a guest professor at IBMEC/RJ and at FGV/RJ since 2002. He has taken several professional courses on this area, both in Brazil and abroad, namely at Harvard (1992) at the M.I.T. (1990).

Member of several associations (having been a member of the Consultative Council of the Brazilian Institute of Policy and Consumer Rights – BRASILCON, from 1997 to 200), Gilberto Martins has been a member of the Consultative Council of the Brazilian Association of Information and Telecommunications Rights – ABDI (part of the Department of Trade and Industry), since 1996.
