The British Council promotes on Wednesday, 13th December, a Christmas party for Alumni members in Parana.
The party will be an opportunity for ex-scholars to share memories of their good days in the UK, be them Christmas, Easter, Guy Fawkes, whatever. It will also be an opportunity for them to expand their local network and have fun, of course. It is suggested that invitees dress according to their perception of the ‘Contemporary British’ although they are welcome to come as they wish.
The party will be held at Sláinte Pub in Curitiba (Al. Pres. Taunay, 435 Batel) where a big screen will show meaningful photos of Alumni members during their stay in the UK. Remembrance of those days will be reinforced by images of British adverts, icons and clips. Celtic music will be played by a local celtic music band. All contributions from partners and spouses accompanying Alumni members will go towards a Christmas present for a Retirement House.
This will be the second event promoted during 2006 on behalf of the UK Alumni Community in South Brazil - the first encounter took place in the form of a Live Café Scientifique on the topic ‘The Chemistry of Attraction’.
The Cultura Inglesa Curitiba is supporting this initiative.
