We are pleased that you are visiting our Web site today and we would like to invite you to visit our Library too, which is located at the Centro Brasileiro Britânico in Pinheiros. The Library and Information Centre, a partnership between British Council and Cultura Inglesa, welcome customers and members by offering them:

• electronic and printed resources, Staff specially trained on educational programmes in the UK, student’s life and general education in Britain; what includes broadly tourist information, UK universities, English language schools and also the International English Language Testing System (IELTS);
• Online Catalog Search
• membership of a self 6,500-volume lending library mainly focussed at British contemporary literature, arts, biography, history and geography; here, you also have British newspapers and magazines like The Economist, New Scientist, Vogue, BBC Good Food, House & Garden, The Sunday Times (including the supplements), The Times (printed edition available every day), and a historical collection of In Britain, since 1959;
• free Internet access for cultural and educational research as well as equipments and electronic resources to watch and/or hear British TV and Radio channels.

We also have a programme for school visits, in which the students carry out studies and researches on cultural and educational aspects of England using our collection for local consultation being accompanied by a member of Staff. If you are interested in booking a visit for your students, please do not hesitate to contact us!

If you wish to become a member of the library and borrow books and magazines, you should be older than 16 years old and be a resident in São Paulo (capital).

To be a member, you will only need:

• to present your original ID card or passport and a letter/mail (as proof of your residence address) to staff;
• pay the annual membership fee of R$ 20,00, if you are younger than 60.
