Dialogue objectives
This dialogue concentrated on the theme of employability and asked: how are we to develop a skilled workforce for the 21st Century? More specifically, dialogue delegates explored practical approaches on how to address this agenda and discussed the following themes at policy level:

The need for higher level knowledge and skills in the workforce.
The role of HE in developing the workforce.
Developing 'soft' or 'essential' skills and the implications for the curriculum.
Understanding and acting on national policy, employer and student needs and expectations.
The role of industry in shaping policy / curriculum and funding education.
Employer expectations – what they want from education systems.
Student expectations: what the student / customer wants and needs.
