Here in Hong Kong we provide a number of opportunities to promote your institution. Some of these opportunities are only available to members of the Partnership.
In Hong Kong there is a centre that is financially supported by the Partnership. As this centre is open to the public we provide an Education UK library style space where students and their influences can browse though prospectuses and education promotional material. The UK organises a central distribution service for your ease.
From end September 2009, we are discontinuing the service of displaying institution prospectuses (also known as 'bulk freight') in British Council offices. This is because our research has shown that fewer students are coming to British Council offices to view prospectuses and the service is not providing a good return on investment.
We therefore request that you do not forward any prospectuses to our offices. Thank you for your understanding.
We are currently looking for an alternative way to promote member institutions more effectively. To this end, we have set up a focus group involving members and British Council staff and are now developing proposals which will be put forward to the Board in October 2009. If you have material that you would like to promote to prospective students in Hong Kong contact us to discuss how we can help you. We can distribute material to our contacts either by post or by including information in our electronic newsletters. Demand for this service can be high and priority for this service is given to our members of the Partnership.
In order to familiarise leading professionals, including journalists, principals and education agents with the UK we organise inward visits. These inward visits are aimed at increasing the understanding of studying and living in the UK. In addition they provide the perfect opportunity to showcase UK institutions. Ensure you subscribe to EducationUK-L in order to hear about these opportunities.
We arrange print advertisements on behalf of UK institutions. As a member of the Partnership you can enjoy preferential rate over all other eligible institutions. Cost includes both artwork and film output but excludes placement of photo images in the advertisement.
Have you considered showcasing an opportunity through the Education UK integrated portfolio? In Hong Kong we produce a number of publications in which we provide advertising opportunities, you can also showcase through advertorial content on Hong Kong’s student facing Education UK website.
