This event is designed to provide an insight into the Thai education system, explore educational links between Thailand and the UK and provide an arena for meeting agents and others who provide opportunities to engage with the Thai education system.

The event will give participating schools the opportunity to:

  • visit a Thai secondary school
  • network with local education agents
  • meet education contacts from local institutions
  • understand more about the local market.

The participation fee includes:

  • an exclusive dinner at the Sukhothai Hotel Bangkok which will provide the opportunity to network with education agents and heads of parental associations as well as government scholarship administrators and heads of English programme schools and bilingual schools
  • transportation for a visit to Srinakharinwirot University Demonstration School, a popular school interested in establishing links with the UK
  • discounted hotel rates.

Please note that the participation fee does not include international or domestic travel, accommodation, subsistence or freight, except where stated.

Lunch and briefing, providing additional information to participating schools on the day's events.
1230–1500
Visit to Srinakharinwirot University Demonstration School (Prasanmitr), a very popular school interested in linking with schools in the UK. The visit will aim to give schools an insight into education in Thailand and provide opportunities for student recruitment and collaboration.
1530–1630
British Council presentation / seminar: insights into working in Thailand, including a market briefing by the British Council and a presentation from an external speaker.
1730–2030

Networking reception and dinner at the Sukhothai Hotel Bangkok.

This event will begin with introductory drinks and a presentation from the British Council on UK boarding schools.

From 1800 to 1900, there will be a networking opportunity. Dinner delegates will have individual tables and school delegates will spend an allocated amount of time at each table before moving on. This will give each school an opportunity to talk to visiting delegates in small groups. (The specific format of this event will depend on the number of schools attending.)

From 1900, dinner will begin.

The following will be invited:

  • government scholarship administrators
  • education agents
  • heads of parental associations
  • heads of English programme schools and bilingual schools.

At least 15 guests are expected to attend.


Visa requirements
Visas are required for UK passport holders. UK passport holders are permitted to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days by obtaining a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival at the airport. Other passport holders should check with their travel agent or contact the Consulate or Embassy of the country they plan to visit.
