Invitation TO Tender (ITT)

The British Council is inviting companies working in Egypt to tender for providing contracted Building Maintenance and Cleaning Services for its offices in Cairo, Egypt. It is the British Council’s intention to let two contracts; one for each service, with a duration of three years*.

The British Council is ‘the United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. A registered charity: 209131 (England and Wales) SC037733 (Scotland)’. We deliver a wide range of services and products to customers and clients in Egypt in the areas of Education, Employability, Social and Cultural Partnership, the Teaching of English as well as delivery of UK examinations and qualifications for students in Egypt.

Building Maintenance Services - Code BCTDR01

Type:         Provision and Execution of Building Maintenance Services
Location: Agouza and Heliopolis Offices
Purpose:  We are looking for an established maintenance company to provide high quality building maintenance services; with qualified staff to run the service. This will include sub-contracting companies to provide specialised maintenance of our equipment.The contractor we are seeking to employ will provide a thorough maintenance service, which ensures that both buildings and equipment are working well to meet customer and staff expectations, while causing no disruption to British Council operations

Closing date and time for receipt by the British Council of Tenderer Responses to the ITT 15 February 2012 at 12.00 p.m.

Cleaning Services - Code BCTDR02

Type:        Provision and Execution of General Cleaning and Janitorial Services
Location: Agouza Office Only
Purpose: Our premises should reflect the British Council’s corporate image.
We are seeking a partnership with an organisation that can identify with our aims and shares our vision for a clean and tidy environment for our customers and staff.

Closing date and time for receipt by the British Council of Tenderer Responses to the ITT 15 February 2012 at 12.00 p.m.

Important Notice for this tender: Our offices are closed on 25 January and will not be able to receive interested companies to visit the site as planned. Alternatively, they can make it either on 24 or 26 January.

General Tender Award Criteria

Tenders must be submitted on time. The company selected will meet at least the minimum selection criteria of:

relevant skills and experience
value for money (the most economically advantageous)
full compliance with tender specification

The tender must demonstrate an understanding of the British Council’s values and needs specific to this Invitation to Tender.
