This project is financed by the UK Government and implement by the British Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

The objective of the project:

Strengthening the capacity of in government officials of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

During the process of accession to Euro-Atlantic structures, the effective performance of duties will include compliance with international standards.

Institutions:

The project encompasses the ministries, administration, headquarters and other institutions at the state level that are involved in the coordination and correspondence with the International Community, and especially in the context of European integration. In Bosnia and Herzegovina our partners in the project implementation and organisation are Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Civil Service Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Program:

The program focuses on developing communication skills within the European Union; it is adjusted to the needs of local institutions, and includes:

			Training for civil servants who effectively use the English language in a professional environment and who need to develop the technique of efficient communication and functioning in the international context
			Training for trainers who effectively use the English language and who have a need to develop skills of transferring knowledge of effective communication and functioning in the international context.

Activities:

So far, two four-day intensive workshops with experienced lecturers from the British Council in Brussels have been completed, including three-day Training of Trainer workshop with the participants coming from institutions from BiH and Montenegro:

			Leadership and participation in meetings and workgroups within the EU
			Technique of efficient negotiating within the EU
			Techniques of delivering courses in the contexts of EU-related skills

Also, two one-day workshops for trainers have been completed.

In September and October 2009 we plan to deliver following workshops:

			Trainer development: Pilot sessions trainers with working groups
			Institutional PR and Media Training
			EU Conferences and Debates

Over the next year and a half we will continue with training of relevant skills for operation within the EU for existing and new participants.
