Active Citizens of Mostar

We continued with the AC programme this time within the southern region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the city of Mostar, still ethnically divided and diverse place. Our local partner on the programme is Mostar City Youth Council (Vijeće mladih Mostar). The programme in Mostar was launched in November 2011.

Participants in Mostar- joint effort towards success

22 participants from both sides of the city went through three-module training programme strengthening the skills of leadership, facilitation, project planning and management and discovering core principles and skills of Active Citizenship. Graduation ceremony is planned for April 2012 during which the British Council Director in BiH will award certificates to successful motivators. Follow our Happening Now page for news and updates on the event.

International Study Visits – Pakistan and Kenya

Four motivators attended international study visits organized in Pakistan and Kenya in February 2012. There they learnt about the challenges and successes of the communities and how AC programme has largely achieved one of its main objectives of peaceful co-existence among communities who have in the past lived in tension. From this experience, we realized what a small world we live in, how a small step somewhere in the world affects the whole world and therefore we cannot go on without having interest of what is going on around us, report the BiH participants of ISV in Pakistan.
