In partnership with Jajce and Šipovo municipalities first workshop for 172 secondary school pupils from was held on Saturday, 22 October 2005 in Jajce. The main theme of this workshop was stone carving. Other workshops for primary and secondary school pupils from Šipovo and Jajce will be organised within the project and video conferencing between UK and BiH architects. |

British Council’s Regional Conference on Cultural Heritage was held in Jajce and Šipovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday 27 March and Tuesday 28 March 2006. Conference participants came from Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro and the United Kingdom. The two main objectives of this conference were: •sharing ideas and best practice, in South East Europe and beyond, in the utilization of cultural heritage, and •evaluation of the British Council’s regional project to date |

World Tourism Organisation’s International Conference on Tourism and Handicrafts was held in Tehran from 13 to 15 May 2006. Kenan Zekić (MA in Tourism and Culture Industry, BA in Product Design, British Council BiH Consultant – Cultural Heritage Project) and Jonathan Karkut (Project Developer and Manager at International Institute of Culture, Tourism and Development – London Metropolitan University) delivered at Tehran WTO Conference a joint presentation entitled “Handicraft Conservation and Design – a case history from Bosnia and Herzegovina” in order to promote the British Council’s Cultural Heritage project in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond as well as to promote the overall tourism offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina and establish useful contacts with other participants. |
