Au Loin Une Ile is an exhibition by two young French curators, Vanessa Desclaux and Marie Canet, both of whom are working between France and the UK. The exhibition provides a window onto the current British contemporary art scene, through the lens of the ‘island’ and all it represents : a geographical reality, a position, exile, exoticism, the ‘other’ …
Works from ten different artists, including Jessica Warboys, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Bethan Huws, Susan Hiller, Gail Pickering and Ian Kiaer are exhibited at the Fondation d'entreprise Ricard in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, giving a renewed perspective on the contemporary British art scene. From 10 January to 11 February.
