What type of courses do you provide?
We offer the following courses:
•General English Course •Business English Course •IELTS Preparation
•Young Learners •English courses for SSC Students
•Teacher Training Courses, i.e. CELTA, TKT. •Professional Development workshops.

What is the duration of the courses? How many classes do I get?
The duration of courses is two months. You will get 16 classes, 2 classes per week and each class is for 2 hours.

How can I register for a course?
First, you will need to take the placement test so that we are able to determine your current level of English and we are able to recommend you the best course for you. After the placement test you will be able to register for the course you have been recommended.

I would like to take an IELTS preparation course. How can I register for it?
As above, you will need to sit for the placement test first. If your English level is Intermediate 1 (B1-1) or above, you will be able to register for the IELTS course. For information about fees please Contact us.

What is the TKT course?
The course is aimed at teachers preparing to take the Cambridge ESOL TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test). The TKT course is designed around the three modules of the exam. It is intended for teachers with some practical experience but who may not have a formal qualification in teaching English. The course is also for suitable for teachers returning to teaching after a break and wishing to brush up on their knowledge.

What is CELTA and how can I enrol for it?
Cambridge/Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate - CELTA (formerly the CTEFLA), is run in over 120 centres world-wide and is widely regarded as one of the most important forms of training in TEFL. It is recognised internationally. The course is intended for those without experience who wish to enter the profession and for teachers with experience, but no formal qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. However, an IELTS score of 8 is needed for the course.

Is the cost of the course book included in the course fee?
Unfortunately, the course book is not included in the course fee. However, you will be given additional materials in the class.

Is the membership of the Resource Centre in Fuller Road included in the course fee? What services can I get there as a Teaching Centre student?
Yes. You will find a huge collection of books on various subject matters to read there, along with newspapers and magazines. There is a listening zone where you can practise listening for IELTS too. In the cyber zone you will get free internet access for one hour. Last but not least, you can take part in different events that are interesting and are related to developing your skills. The Resource Centre is open from Saturday to Thursday 10am-6pm and Friday 3pm-7pm.

What are your class times?
We have classes at different times during the day 9-11 am, 11.15 am-1.15 pm, 1.45-3.45 pm, 4-6pm and 6.15-8.15 pm. Please note that not all classes are held in all the timings. Our classes are held only on weekdays (Sunday-Thursday).

How can I get a preferred class time?
Your class time will be determined according to your level. You will at least be offered two class times for each level.

Do you provide any workshop on IELTS preparation?
Yes. Our Examination Services provides a one-day workshop on IELTS preparation for the candidates who have already registered for IELTS exam. We take registration for the workshop on first come first serve basis. The fee for the workshop is TK 500.

What subjects do we offer in our Professional Development workshops on Saturdays? Where and when are the workshops held?
We run one or two day workshops on Saturdays with different topics: Customer services Skills, Interpersonal Communication Skills, Time Management, Business Writing Essentials and many more. The workshops are held at the British Council Teaching centre in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

What subjects and skills training do we offer to corporate bodies? Where are they held?
We offer General English courses to raise the overall level of English within a company.We also offer workshops on Report Writing, Business Communications
Better Emails and many other language-related skills.
Besides these, we hold courses on soft skills such as Better Management, Negotiation Skills and others.
Training can be arranged when the clients want, and either at our Teaching Centre or at the clients’ premises.
