FAQ for members

Arrow, 9x9, purple   1. I’ve lost my membership card, what should I do?
First contact us by email or telephone to let us know it is missing. Then bring a stamp sized photograph of yourself to the Centre and for a minimal cost of Tk 100 our staff will issue you with another one.

Arrow, 9x9, purple   2. I want to borrow a book which is already out on loan, is there a way of being sure that I will be able to borrow the book as soon as it is returned?
Yes. For a small fee of Tk 10 per book, you can reserve the book when you are in the Resource Centre, or email or telephone us. As soon as the book comes back, we will notify you and it will stay on reserve for you for two weeks.

Arrow, 9x9, purple   3. I have borrowed a book which is due back soon. Is it possible to extend the time so that I can borrow it for a bit longer?
Yes. Simply telephone or email us, on or before the due date and we will extend the period of loan for a further 3 weeks, providing the book has not been reserved by someone else.

Arrow, 9x9, purple   4. Will you charge me for returning books or DVDs late?
Yes. If you return a book, journal or periodical late, we will have to charge you Tk 5 per item per day. If you return a DVD late, it will be Tk 10 per item per day. Simply avoid these charges by emailing or telephoning us to ask if you can extend the borrowing time.

Arrow, 9x9, purple   5. I have moved recently, do I need to let you know my new address?
Yes please, it’s important our membership records are kept up to date.
