Promoting school partnerships between UK and Bangladesh

We promote links between schools in Bangladesh and the UK. If you are a school principal or teacher in Bangladesh who wants your school to develop and grow as a school of tomorrow, school linking is an activity which may help you to achieve this.

What is a School Link?
A school link is a relationship between two schools that is of mutual benefit. School links often begin very informally - prompted by teachers’ personal contacts, training or networking events or even through children themselves. Schools often find that they are dealing with similar problems or issues, even when they are in different countries. A formal link or partnership may become desirable as teachers and pupils discover common ground and ways of approaching issues.

Are there any resources that can help us establish a formal link?
We promote global school partnerships by providing guidance, professional development opportunities and grants to schools that use partnerships to develop a global dimension within the curriculum. British Council can offer you advice and ideas for developing a global dimension within your curriculum. We also offer you guidance and advice on establishing or developing your school partnership, and we provide opportunities for teachers to gain formal accreditation in recognition of the professional development and skills gained through building a global school partnership. Find out more from our DFID Global Schools Partnership website.

There are also several websites that may help you to find out more about schools and linking up with them in the UK. Find out more.
