The British Chevening Scholarships are prestigious awards designed to enable overseas students to study in the United Kingdom. The Scholarships are funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). They are on offer in more than 150 countries, including Azerbaijan, and enable future leaders, decision makers and opinion formers from around the world to become familiar with the UK and to gain skills which will benefit their countries.
Sport Administration Chevening Scholarship is the first time awarded within International Inspiration programme. Delivering the ambitions promised by the London bid team in Singapore, the programme aims to “reach young people all around the world and connect them to the inspirational power of the Olympic Games so they are inspired to choose sport.” The programme uses the power of sport to transform the lives of millions of children and young people in developing countries.
Successful applicants must already hold a higher education diploma, have relevant professional work experience of at least 3 years; have not already lived or studied outside Azerbaijan or the former Soviet Union for an extended period of time and have good command of English.
All interested applicants should download the application form. Applications should be submitted to British Council office. The closing date for application is 17:00, 16 March 2009. Suitable candidates will be called for an interview and for a test of their English language ability.
