11½ Dancing Nights

Within this project renowned British dance trainer Rachel Krische visited Baku to give a 11-day of master classes for the TODES Dance Group.

Starting from 3 January 2006 until 14 January Rachel introduced workshops focused on contemporary British dance styles that culminated in an exciting dancing show on 14 January 2006 at the Dunya Theatre of Khazar University.

Some participants of the project were involved in our other successful dance residency workshops by Random Dance (2003) and Russell Maliphant Dance Company (2004).

Rachel Krische graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School in 1992 with a BA Hons in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. As an independent dance artist she has worked with a variety of companies including Adventures In Motion Pictures, La Ribot, Vincent Dance Theatre, Wendy Houstoun, Colin Poole and, most recently, Akram Khan. She qualified as a Yoga teacher in 2000 and this forms a solid foundation for her work. She also uses her current dance collaborations to inform her dynamic class. Rachel recently won the Jerwood Choreography Award.

11½ Dancing Nights” workshops were part of our global PACE (Performing Arts Creative Education) programme that involves eight South-east European countries and aims at providing young people with educational support, creative empowerment and professional development.
