WORLD BOOK DAY

If you learn English, like reading, writing, drawing, competitions and quizzes join us in the celebrations for World Book Day.

World Book Day is a big event supporting books and readings. We will celebrate this day on Sunday 12 March 2006 from 11.00 to 15.00. The day will be full of various activities: new book displays, session for everybody on how to choose the right book, session for teachers and parents on how to do a storytelling session, storytelling sessions for kids, bookmark making competition, treasure hunts, literary quizes. Lots of prizes, lotteries and fun!

MY FAVOURITE BOOK
Do you or your kids like reading, writing or painting? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you can win great prizes by taking part in our competitions. Just write a review of your favourite book and enter our Book Review competition or draw a picture of your favourite book and enter our Book Illustration competition.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
If you are over 10 write no more than 500 words in Englsih about how the book was written; explain how you feel about the book and why; express your opinion and persuade others to read the book.
If you are under 16 paint a scene or hero from your favourite book

WHO CAN ENTER?
Children and adults can take part in the Book Review competition. Children from 5-16 years old can enter the Book Illustration competition

HOW CAN I ENTER THE COMPETITION?
Write your full name, age, place of study/work and contact details and bring them together with your Book Review/Book Illustration to our office or email us at infocentre@britishcouncil.az.
Deadline for entries is 7 March 2006.
