Entertainment meets education or ... when science takes to the stage

“We take complex science issues and facts ... and turn them into something accessible, fun and interactive” science made simple.

The inspirational Visualise - the beauty of science science theatre show has toured the South-East Europe region from September – November 2007 as part of our Beautiful Science project .

This live science demonstration show with a difference also came to Vienna on 20 November 2007.

Watch a short video about the Vienna shows created by our media partner scIQ.

Visualise by the Welsh company science made simple is a high impact visual show which combines live science experiments with graphics and music to create a word-less and awe-inspiring experience of science.

Visualise - the beauty of science is a truly engaging spectacle, an experiment that began by removing all verbal explanation from science made simple’s award-winning interactive presentations. Physical theatre, live demonstrations, projected images and music combine to create a wordless experience of wonder. There is no trickery. It’s live. Ordinary objects are used in extraordinary ways, to create swirling whirlwinds, giant smoke rings and dancing flames. The lack of language means that the show is suitable for all ages. A playful mix of interactive experiment and mischievous fun. The audience are invited to make their own observations and discoveries, igniting their curiosity and ultimately motivating them to find out for themselves how the world works.

The show had its premiere in August 2007 at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it was shortlisted for the prestigious 'Total Theatre Award for Experimentation', after beating off stiff competition from over 400 competing productions.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners KulturKontakt Austria and scIQ for supporting this event.
