I would like to do an English course in Britain. Can you send me a list of English language schools?

We do not provide a mail service.

You can use the English in the UK online database, which comprises English language schools accredited by the British Council: www.englishuk.com
The website has a search function so you can look for schools, for example, according to type of course and location.

Do you offer English language courses at the British Council in Vienna?
No, we don't offer English language courses in Austria. Our list of course providers will help you find a suitable course.
How much will a course cost on average?
This depends on several factors such as the type, the duration and the location of the course. To give an example: a general course of English comprising 15 hours tuition per week and accommodation plus one full day and one half day excursion per week in the town of Southampton in the south of England costs between £244 - £250 per week. To view this and other examples, please have a look at the English UK website.
Can I live with a British family while doing my course?
Many British Council accredited language schools provide homestay accommodation for their pupils. To find out more, have a look at English UK website.
Can you recommend any particular English language school?

The British Council has accredited many language schools in the UK and therefore cannot recommend one single school.

'Accredited' means schools are inspected at regular intervals to ensure that they meet our quality standards. Have a look at our Education UK website - you will find a variety of search categories to help you find the language school that suit your needs.

Where can I find information about summer schools and summer camps?

The term summer school covers a wide area of topics. Some summer schools offer only English-language courses, some offer English-language courses combined with other activites, while others still concentrate on English literature.

Summer camps are intended for young people who live together in a camp or youth hostel and participate in a programme of sports and other recreational activities. The following websites provide a great deal of information about the various possibilities for your or your child?s summer.
