Venues: If more than 40 candidates from the same area outside Vienna register for a specific exam, the British Council will try to organize a test venue within this area. However, we reserve the right for a final decision on the examination venues.

Transfers: Once you have registered, you will not be able to transfer your entry to a future exam sitting, or to a different level of exam.

Special needs: Cambridge ESOL endeavours to provide candidates with special needs, such as hearing or visual difficulties or other physical impairments, with equal opportunities to sit the examinations. Please let us know in advance of registration in case you have special needs :exams@britishcouncil.at.

Cancellations: Examinations Services reserve the right to cancel an exam if the number of registered candidates does not meet the Cambridge ESOL minimum entry requirements.

Refunds

If you are unable to sit your examination because of illness, Cambridge ESOL will accept requests for partial refunds. An administrative charge of (currently) EUR 65,- will be deducted from the test fee. Medical certificates must be sent to our office within five working days. Please note that your entry cannot be transferred to a future exam sitting.

N.B. No refund will be issued in respect of a timetable clash with other examinations/school excursions.

Confirmation of entry and examination timetable

All candidates will receive their Confirmation of Entry, full timetable information including venues for all exam components and Notice to Candidates approximately three weeks before the written exam by email.

If you have not received these documents in time it is your responsibility to contact: :exams@britishcouncil.at at least two weeks before the exam.

If you are taken ill on the day of your speaking test, please contact us immediately to check if a new arrangement is possible. In exceptional cases we might be able to change your speaking test for non-medical reasons, however, this incurs an additional charge of EUR 31,- per candidate/change to cover the costs of arranging for examiners and premises.

Results and certificates
Results are available online about 6-8 weeks after the examination date (scores for computer-based exams are available in 3 weeks). Together with your timetable you will receive detailed instructions how to check your results online. Cambridge ESOL reserves the right to amend information given before the issue of certificates.

Enquiries on results on behalf of candidates can be made only via our centre within one month of the issue of Statement of Results. The decisions of Cambridge ESOL concerning results are final.

Certificates are issued only to candidates with passing grades through the centre, approx. 6 to 8 weeks after the online release of Statements of Results. Because of the value placed on certificates we will send them to candidates/schools via registered post. Group certificates will be sent to the person responsible listed on the Group Registration Form.
