What we do

In Austria and Europe, our mission is creating partnerships and networks as part of a vision of working together to build next generation Europe. We seek to do this across a range of areas which represent culture in the broadest sense.

Together with colleagues in South East Europe we work on large-scale projects that involve partners in many countries and the UK. We are currently involved in four regional projects.

The British Council worldwide

In the UK the British Council is registered as a charity (not-for-profit-organisation) and operates as an executive non-departmental public body. We operate in 110 countries and territories worldwide.

The British Council opened in Austria in 1946.
