All staff are employed under Austrian law and British Council employment standards. All offers of appointment are subject to satisfactory references.
Our staff normally work a five-day week of thirty-six hours (excluding lunch breaks), but some flexibility is required.
The British Council is committed to a policy of equal opportunity. Our policy aims to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of sex, marital status, race, colour, creed, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age or disability.
We have a code of conduct which all members of staff are required to follow. The code states the key standards of behaviour expected from members of staff and from others acting on behalf of the British Council in order to preserve and enhance its reputation.
