Applications have closed.

The Scotland Scholarship covers the tuition fee, airfare and stipend for a taught Masters course of up to 12 months' duration at any Scottish institution.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Scotland Scholarship website.

All short-listed applicants have now been contacted for interview. The British Council would like to thank all who applied.

How many scholarships are on offer?

The Scottish Executive is offering 2 scholarships for students from Australia for 2007/8.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship covers tuition fees, return economy airfare and a living allowance.

The following subject areas will be given priority:

  • science and technology
  • creative industries (including arts, design and culture).

The course must be:

  • a Masters programme of not more than 12 months' duration
  • based in a Scottish higher education institution
  • during the academic year 2007/8

Some examples of courses that may be undertaken include:

  • Bioengineering
  • Environmental science
  • E-commerce
  • Project management
  • Accounting
  • Design
  • Digital media
  • Music etc

Do I need to provide IELTS test results?

Australian residents applying for the scholarship do not need to provide IELTS results.

Where will interviews take place?

All interviews for shortlisted applicants will take place in Sydney, at the British Council office. British Council will cover any. reasonable airfare costs to travel to Sydney for interview purposes.
