Scots Australian Council scholarship 2009/2010

About the scholarship

Scots Australian Council scholarships are awarded in partnership with  Scottish universities and Scottish business and industry, together with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The aim of the programme is to develop lasting links between young Scots and Australians by offering outstanding graduates and young professionals the opportunity to study at a Scottish university.

Successful candidates will have a track record of ambition, excellence and achievement, the potential to become leaders in their chosen fields, and a clear idea of how their scholarship and period of study in Scotland will be of benefit not only to them but also to Australia on their return.

The scholarship includes a return economy airfare to Scotland from any capital city in Australia, academic fees (capped at £12,000), an arrival allowance, a stipend (inclusive of a book and materials allowance) payable for ten months, and a departure allowance.

It is also advised that applicants apply to their Scottish University of choice at this time. If applicants wait until a decision has been made, places at their university of choice might all be gone.
