British Council Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, the process of dealing with Immigration and Customs is not easy hence we have had to deal with a consultant most of the time. The rules change frequently, so check with the Embassy before planning your tour.

Visas
Visitors from the UK require a visa and it can be obtained either in advance in the UK or at the port of entry. The fees are US$55 for UK passports and US$30 for non UK.

Work permits
You need a clearance letter from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ). For each person in the group you take you will need:

  • the letter from NACZ
  • 2 passport size photos
  • a letter from your guarantor/sponsor/promoter explaining why the group is visiting
  • a programme (including venues where you will perform)
  • a copy of the biographical pages of each passport.

The fee for the application is ZW$5,000 (£5).

Entry Clearance
Clearance is obtained from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe. If bringing in any goods, you also need to specify the value of the goods and apply to Customs & Excise for clearance in advance. You might be asked to pay a fee which is refunded once the goods leave the country.

Insurance
Personal insurance and insurance of goods is the responsibility of each individual.

Freight
You can use any freight agency.

Forms
If you are travelling with the British Council, we can obtain forms from Immigration and make the application on the group's behalf. Otherwise contact the embassy for more information.
