Visas
All artists from abroad wishing to perform or exhibit in Cuba must have an invitation from an official body in Cuba, and must obtain a visa from the Cuban Embassy (Consulate). Visa applications are sent to the Cuban Consulate, and the Cuban host (eg the Ministry for Culture) must also send the same Consulate a letter (this can be an email) supporting the application. Artists from abroad come to Cuba chiefly to participate in events and workshops of generally a short duration. It would be very difficult to work as an artist in Cuba, principally because there are not the financial resources available in Cuba to support activity of this kind.

Insurance
Medical insurance is not necessary to obtain a visa.

Freight
Freight into Cuba is only really possible as air freight, but this needs the clear backing of a Cuban agency for clearance purposes and is not normally to be recommended.
