ARTISTIC POLICY
Upswing aims to bring a new flavour to circus and aerial dance. The company draws from urban, classical and global styles to create a new performance vocabulary, one that will particularly resonate with the African and West Indian community but will at the same time challenge cultural barriers, convention and expectation.

CURRENT PRODUCTION
Voices An aerial dance work inspired by African proverbs. Full of warmth and humour, Voices is suitable for adults and children of all ages. (20 mins, can be performed twice per day, 3 on the road)

FUTURE PRODUCTION
Loved Up A development of a commission by the Mayor of London, an exhilarating 20 minute performance fusing hip hop and aerial dance. Six people explore the meaning of love from broken hearts to soaring passion.

WRAP-AROUND ACTIVITY
Upswing offers a range of workshops for different ages and abilities including an introduction to aerial skills, introduction to stilts, street dance, acrobatic balance and intermediate aerial workshops. Also post show discussions.
