ARTISTIC POLICY
Uninvited Guests makes entertaining and provocative performance that tries to make sense of our media-saturated culture, combining high tech with low tech, the visceral with the virtual. Formed in Bristol in 1998, the company works in various contexts and constellations, focusing mainly on performance but also producing installation and digital media.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
'An abundance of intellect and a sharp performance style.' The Guardian (Schlock)

'A thrilling and disconcerting performance: both visceral and cerebral.' Total Theatre Magazine (Schlock)

'A powerful examination of the recurring human fascination with narratives of violence and horror.' The Scotsman (Schlock)

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
It is Like it Ought to Be: A Pastoral Uninvited Guests seek to found Arcadia in the theatre, a rural idyll amongst the city’s hubbub. They invent fake songs and fake dances for our green and plastic land, declaim hip Romantic poetry and conjure epic landscapes. (60 mins approx., 5 on stage, 7 on the road)

Aftermath Trained by a TV make-up artist, Uninvited Guests carefully fabricate bloody wounds on each other’s bodies. An immersive soundtrack is created live by sampling performers’ bodies. (6 hour durational installation, 4 performers, 6 on the road)

FUTURE PRODUCTION
Love Letters Straight from the Heart Somewhere between a wedding reception and a radio show, Uninvited Guests takes requests and dedicates songs to others’ loves. (60 mins, 2 on stage, 4 on the road)

WRAP-AROUND ACTIVITY
Workshops (2–6 hours) and presentations.

RECENT INTERNATIONAL WORK
2003–04 Denmark, Slovenia (Offline), Portugal (Guest House CD-Rom)
