CURRENT PRODUCTIONS The Gods are not to Blame By Ola Rotimi. An adaptation of Sophocles’s Oedipus Rex saga transposed to African soil and interwoven with vivid dance and memorable music. A boy is prophesised to kill his own father and marry his mother. What follows is a dark and twisted journey of discovery leading to macabre consequences. (120 mins, 9 on stage, 14 on the road)
The Estate By Oladipo Agboluaje. Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard given a contemporary Nigerian makeover. A family comes together for a father’s funeral, but as the family discuss inheritance and house servants begin to question their roles, the façade of a happy, desirable household inevitably begins to crack. A Soho Theatre/New Wolsey Theatre co-production. (105 mins, 8 on stage, 13 on the road)
FUTURE PRODUCTIONS Joe Guy By Roy Williams. Joe is a young, second generation British Ghanaian footballer playing at a top flight premiership club who battles with managing his sudden celebrity status and press attention. Award winning writer Roy Williams continues to explore bitter prejudices and issues of immense complexity, where young descendants from Africa distance themselves from a unified multi-cultural urban Britain. (80 mins, 9 on stage, 14 on the road)
