REVIEW EXTRACTS 'It is proof of Anderson’s singularity that none of the works have dated … What an impressive back catalolgue.' The Guardian (Double Take)
'Anderson proved with Smithereens that she is still at the forefront of the interrogation of choreographic composition and performance. As always, she cleverly wore her visual references on her sleeve in an intelligent, provoking and perverse piece.' Dance Theatre Journal
'Seriously, deliciously wayward.' The Herald
CURRENT PRODUCTIONS “YIPPEEE!!! (2006)” Middle-scale touring theatrical production which brings six Cholmondeleys and six Featherstonehaughs onstage together, accompanied live by Steve Blake’s Yum Yum band playing his infectious electro-squeak groove score. Simon Vincenzi provides a myriad of fantastical costumes and the hypnotic sound-synched lighting is designed by Simon Corder. Expect a sensory overload in this kaleidoscopic chorus line of geometric production numbers influenced by Busby Berkley. (12 on stage)
Double Take (Film) Re-worked for camera version of 20th anniversary double bill of Flesh & Blood (1989) with Double Take – highlights from early Featherstonehaugh’s repertoire, reworked with a 21st century twist. The all-male Featherstonehaughs become women, and the Cholmondeleys, men. Music by Steve Blake’s band Victims of Death/Bog Standards, lighting and staging by Simon Corder, costumes by Sandy Powell/Emma Fryer. Choreographed and directed by Lea Anderson. Shot on DVCAM and mastered onto Digibeta. Available for screening in a range of formats, also to buy on DVD direct from the Cholmondeleys.
