ARTISTIC POLICY StopGAP is an integrated dance company with a passion for presenting high quality dance that is thrillingly vibrant, at times tender, and shows unflinching integrity. Each programme is a selection of dance combining character-driven work and more challenging contemporary dance by UK and international choreographers. StopGAP aims to inspire and engage, while challenging preconceptions.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS Dancers Syndrome ‘Is looking like I know what I’m doing more important that admitting I don’t?!’ Choreographed by Adam Benjamin (founder/ex-artistic director of CandoCo), the piece investigates the dancer’s role. (25 mins, 4 dancers, 7–8 on the road)
Corpus Set in a surreal after-party world, Corpus exposes the individual through intimate physical relationships, fast, raw movement and quirky humour. Choreographed by Filip van Huffel of Retina Dance Company. (20 mins, 4 dancers, 7–8 on the road)
Portfolio Collection StopGAP invite choreographers to respond to 10-minute sections of a larger movement of music. Choreographers include Gary Clarke and Dan Watson amongst others. Venues can select which three pieces of the portfolio best suit their audience. (30 mins, 4 dancers, 7–8 on the road)
FUTURE PRODUCTION The Portfolio Collection will be expanded to include work by seven choreographers, including commissions with a Swedish choreographer and two choreographers based in France.
WRAP-AROUND ACTIVITY A comprehensive programme of workshops and residencies with educational establishments and disability groups from primary to older people. Lectures and training on methods of integration for professional practitioners and international choreographic projects with European collaborators abroad. Workshops and training for disability groups with limited verbal comprehension.
