ARTISTIC POLICY R.I.P.E (Rees International Projects Enterprise) is a platform for solo and collaborative performance projects. It explores cultural and sexual identity in an inventive, idiosyncratic style; fusing movement work with narrative, voice, video, film and visual design. Its innovative performances are known for flamboyant, humorous and often extreme interpretations of history, culture and personal experience.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS Vaseline Machine Rees revisits the powerful and provocative ‘Male Herd’ monologues by Canadian author Michael Toppings, placing them in a totally new and exhilarating dramatic context. Pushing the ‘pink’ theme further, deeper and harder, Rees’ solo features dislocated disco moves and dark words alongside an image of his mother’s pink bathroom mirror, a customised glitter ball and stripped down Kylie. (25 mins, 2 on the road)
Comfort Zone/Vibrator Two works made in collaboration with Spanish dance artist Guillermo Weickert as part of COLINA 06, Newcastle.
Comfort Zone Two men enclosed in a cheap, plastic 'potting shed’, standing on a bed of their own jumbled clothes; they dress and undress repeatedly until their breath condenses on the transparent walls and their clothes are soaked with their mingled sweat. (60 minutes, 3 on the road)
Vibrator Two men sitting at a table in a very loud vibrating room, the surface of the table is smeared in Vaseline. Grasping, sliding, spilling lube covered beer bottles, exchanging chewing gum and eventually spitting the beer. (30 mins, 3 on the road)
WRAP-AROUND ACTIVITY Lectures and participatory workshops that focus on performance, architecture and design.
FUTURE PRODUCTIONS Gloria Days Interdisciplinary solo performance based on the extravagant 5th Marquis of Anglesey and his infamous and exuberant ‘Butterfly Dance’. Collaborators include film maker Octavio Iturbe; Tanzcompagnie Rubato (Berlin) and Opera/Ballet designer John Macfarlane. Premiere October 2007. (2 on the road)
New work (title tbc) New collaboration with Guillermo Weickert. Premiere July 2007. (3 on the road)
