REVIEW EXTRACT ‘Excellent…Superior…A production that enforces the dangers of our own time.’ Manchester Evening News (The KAOS Richard III)
CURRENT PRODUCTION Mine En route to a breaking story in a nearby village, a small western TV news-team and their two guides, local militiamen, discover they have walked into a minefield, in the pitch black of night. Mine is a play about four people stuck in a field. It is about the human spirit and the failure of it. About going no-where but being everywhere. It is a play about life; death and somewhere near the end it is about hope. Mine is loosely based on the real experiences of a war correspondent. (80 mins, no interval, 4 on stage, 7 on the road, contains strong language and some violent imagery, suitable for small- to middle-scale venues, audiences 14+ years)
FUTURE PRODUCTION The KAOS Midsummer Night’s Dream Shakespeare’s bestselling rom-com in association with The Lighthouse, Poole. Welcome to the Woodsman Arms, a pub where Puck spikes drinks and messes with his victim’s heads. The locals are looking for love in all the wrong places, their minds shrunken by giant TV screens, pumping out reality TV and football. A satellite dish connects all to another Pinot Grigio and silicone-fuelled world of romance. Ensemble cast featuring Mat Fraser, creator and star of Thalidomide!! A Musical as Puck. Plus live music & song. (All details tbc, 120 mins approx. plus interval, 8 on stage, 11 on the road, may contain some nudity and moderate swear words, suitable for middle- to large-scale venues, audience 15+ years)
WRAP-AROUND ACTIVITY Tailor-made and physical theatre/devising with texts workshops and residencies. Web-based interactive audience and cast blogs, chat rooms and education programmes. Post show discussions. On-line films and pod casts.
