ARTISTIC POLICY
Bonachela Dance Company (BDC), founded in 2006, is a dynamic touring company under the artistic direction of award-winning choreographer Rafael Bonachela, who is also artistic director of Sydney Dance Company. BDC is an associate company at Southbank Centre, London, and DanceEast, Ipswich. Founded on Bonachela’s interest in the physicality and emotional impulse of the body, the company brings together artists from diverse practices and influences to create work that communicates in vivid and powerful terms about the human condition and human relationships.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
The Land of Yes and The Land of No In a collaboration with composer Ezio Bosso, Bonachela delves into the world of signs that rule our lives and spark our memories, exploring the physical shape of memory and emotions. (85 mins with interval, 6 on stage, 10 on the road.)

Square Map of Q4 Uses projections onto dancers to enhance the movement and explore concepts of light as sculptural form and evokes dreamlike states and half recalled memories. (80 mins with interval, 6 on stage, 10 on the road.)

Voices A diptych comprising Set Boundaries – a collaboration with composer Matthew Herbert, visual artist Lenka Clayton and designer Alan Macdonald – and /aót∫ak/ inspired by Luciano Berio´s Naturale. (75 mins with interval, 6 on stage, 10 on the road.)

Mixed bill Various award winning works, from duets to solos and group works, including Place Prize winning E2 7SD, Soledad and Irony of Fate. (Programme length and number of dancers dependent on works selected.)

WRAP-AROUND
Pre- or post-performance talks. Workshops for dance students age 15+. Masterclasses for professional dancers also available.
