ARTISTIC POLICY
No Passports: Positioned between East and West, Tara champions creative diversity through the production, promotion, and development of world class, cross-cultural theatre.
No passports for the stories we tell
No passports for the artists we work with
No passports for our audiences
The creative health of modern diverse humanity demands no passports. Founded in 1977, the company tours vibrant adaptations of European and Asian classics, develops new writing and brings the great stories of the world to children in junior schools.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
The most culturally open-minded troupe in Britain.
The Independent on Sunday
A parable of reactionary fundamentalism – without losing sight of the play’s more tender charms…a brisk and bold reworking of a play that highlights important contemporary themes.
Daily Mail (The Tempest)
A metaphor for both colonialism and confinement…visually and aurally the production is striking.
The Guardian on (The Tempest)

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
When the Lights Went Out
The story of the Diwali Festival. Using Participatory Theatre techniques, two performers draw children into the adventures of the legendary lovers, Sita and Rama, Hanuman the wondrous monkey king, and the terrifying ten-headed demon Ravana. They vividly bring to life the magical world of the Circular City and the demon island of Lanka.
For ages 3 to 6 years. Running time 50 minutes. Number on stage 2, on tour 3.

WRAP-AROUND
TARA productions have accompanying Teacher Education Resource Packs, post-show discussions and curriculum related interactive theatre workshops. Workshops can be run as part of longer residencies to support audience development and education programmes.
