ARTISTIC POLICY
Mem Morrison collaborates with a range of multi-disciplinary artists to produce performances in a variety of media for theatres, site-specific spaces, and galleries. With a strong emphasis on design and colour, the work often draws upon personal history and environment to evoke the complexities of acknowledging and accepting cultural difference.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
Mem Morrison radiates talent as a writer and performer…witty and intriguing. Proof that live theatre is still alive.

CURRENT PRODUCTION
Leftovers
A site-specific production which takes place in cafes, Leftovers explores culture and cultural difference and how this is expressed through food. Houmous meets the full English breakfast in a gentle exploration of how cultures meet and mingle, eat, socialise and influence each other. (70 mins, no interval, 1 on stage, 2–3 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTION
Ringside
A site-specific performance for Town Hall and other civic spaces premiering in 2009, Ringside is inspired by a childhood fixation with wedding ceremonies and based on memories of Turkish-Cypriot family weddings attended by Morrison over the past 30 years. Ringside is a performance installation heard through earphones and is part devised through a two week workshop preceding the performance involving 30 women from the local community who will perform with Mem. (90 mins, no interval, 1 on stage plus 30 workshop performers, 3 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Workshops, talks and residencies focusing on making autobiographical work particularly for young people aged 15–25 years.
