Theatre Babel stages adaptations and new versions of world classics. Theatre Babel productions have a distinctive style that is visually powerful and uses minimal sets.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘I’ve seldom seen such clarity… unexpectedly moving… not to be missed.’ The Sunday Times (Macbeth)

‘Theatre Babel’s Macbeth has so much going for it... this production is full of good ideas... spine tingling… go see it.’ The Guardian (Macbeth)

‘Theatre Babel... the great style house of the Scottish stage.’ Mail On Sunday

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Macbeth By William Shakespeare. Unforgettably intense and brilliantly realised, Macbeth is a masterpiece of violence, guilt and the quest for power at any cost. Visually striking set using 30 full size suspended broad swords. (90 mins, 15 on the road.)

Volpone By Ben Jonson. Venice 1606. The beautiful and debauched party capital of Europe. A deliciously vicious satire of a dazzling and godless world ripe with greed, lust and ambition. (90 mins, approx 13 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Workshops and lectures available on the production, process and related themes.
