ARTISTIC POLICY Scottish Dance Theatre (SDT) tours a body of work by Artistic Director Janet Smith and international artists alongside creations by emerging talent, bringing audiences choreographic voices from the world around us. SDT invests in creativity and is a seedbed for ideas in which performers and choreographers can challenge themselves, producing work which is thoroughly engaging, moving, thought provoking and has resonance in people’s lives. The company is committed to broadening access to its performance work by offering an associated education programme.

Tenderhook An intense, emotionally charged work choreographed by Liv Lorent, featuring hauntingly beautiful music by award-winning composer Ezio Bosso. (28 mins, 8 on stage, 12 on the road.)
Sorry for the Missiles! A powerful, expressive and moving piece of dance theatre by Vanessa Haska which explores the effects of war on a community. (33 mins, 10 on stage, 14 on the road.)
In the Middle of the Moment A powerful duet to music by Arvo Part and Kurtag. (17 mins, 2 on stage, 4 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND SDT offers a diverse education programme which supports and informs viewing of the company’s work. SDT offers education participants the opportunity to experience creativity and empowerment through dance. The company offers lecture demonstrations, masterclasses, workshops for a broad range of ages (age 10+) and experience for both amateur and professional students, residencies, pre- and post-show talks.
