ARTISTIC POLICY
After eight years dancing with Wayne McGregor’s Random Dance, Laila Diallo has been developing her own choreographic work since 2005. Her recent work explores the emotive potential of the body in movement, making visible and resonant internal shifts of intention or emotion to create physical narratives. Laila Diallo also works in theatre, television and opera a movement director/choreographer. She was awarded a Rayne Fellowship for Choreographers in 2006.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
The Wayside A new solo performance inspired by the theme of departure. Showcasing Diallo’s vivid dancing, it explores a physicality of loss and resilience. (15 mins, 1 on stage, 2 on the road.)

Between the Shingle and the Dune Moments of distance and nearness, physical narratives of togetherness. This piece is a duet for Theo Clinkard and Laila Diallo. (17 mins, 2 on stage, 3 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTION
A Sense of Self In collaboration with choreographer Mélanie Demers and created across three continents with visits to Kenya, Canada and the UK. (60 mins, 2 on stage, 4 on the road, premieres April 2008.)

WRAP-AROUND
The company welcomes opportunities for post performance discussions and talks in link with the performance. The company offers masterclasses for professional dancers and dance students, workshops for children, young adults and the elderly (include a warm up and a creative session in link with the creative process and theme of the piece being presented).
