CURRENT PRODUCTIONS Body Language A TV salesman struggles with reality and is consumed by his invention: the 20 screen plasma dream. Film and physical theatre combine to portray the search for truth in the age of information.(29 mins, no interval, 1 on stage, 5 on the road.)
Single Reflex Another dream date shatters and twists into recurring patterns of tragedy. Funk styles, physical theatre and provocative imagery ricochet between real and surreal, comic and tragic. A haunting serenade of dance theatre. (19 mins, no interval, 1 on stage, 5 on the road.)
FUTURE PRODUCTION Boxin Literally breaks down obstructions by using physical theatre, dance, hip hop culture, and parkour. The set becomes the sixth performer creating an ever-changing landscape as a metaphor for social barriers in 21st century society. (80 mins, including interval, 5 on stage, 9 on the road.)
WRAP-AROUND Kompany Malakhi provides workshops, residencies, masterclasses, post-performance discussions, and lecture demonstrations. The majority of wrap-around activity can be adapted to suit age ranges 13+ and the company can work with both an amateur and professional audience. Workshops and residencies include: physical theatre, contemporary dance, breakin, funk, jazz, capoeira, freestyle street dance (lockin, poppin, b-boy basics), and urban British jazz dance.
