ARTISTIC POLICY
Hoodwink has built a reputation for its innovative and accessible performance, and its unique combination of striking visual images, specially commissioned music and sound, and unexpected animation of set and props. The company aims to stretch audience expectations of what theatre can be, where it can take place, and what the audience’s role might be within it.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘A superb surreal piece of drama. I have seldom laughed so much – all delivered with incredible style and panache.’ What's on South West (Gastronomic)

‘A tip top show! With each new surprise the faces of both adults and children lit up with a big smile.’ Ouest-France (Tock Tick)

Current productions
Pleasure Garden An intimate performance in a formal garden. Audiences glimpse the innocent moments of Adam’s first bite of the apple, through love letters and peacocks to the thunderous age of steam. Entirely non verbal. (Features “costumed” nudity.)

Tock Tick Mice are taking over the clock tower. Impossible ladders, eccentric bird lures, serenades and origami. An epic finale of levitation, dancing flowers and a clock tower that spins with delight. Entirely non verbal. Suitable for a family audience. (35 mins, repeated twice a day, 3 on stage and on the road.)

Gastronomic An elaborate theatrical feast, centred round a magical 12 foot table. A succession of unpredictable courses from exploding crab to motorised puddings and flies in the soup. Almost entirely non verbal. Suitable for a family audience. (35 mins, repeated twice a day, 3 on stage and on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Each of the shows can be accompanied by workshops aimed at a range of ages and abilities from children to professional artists, including: physical performance, theatrical clown, and creating site-specific performance. Post-performance discussions involving opportunities to see and touch the many animated props and scenery which populate the shows are also available.
