ARTISTIC POLICY
Founded in 1999 by Tristan Sharps, dreamthinkspeak creates site-responsive productions in a range of settings, exploring how the use of different environments can radically alter the relationship of the audience to the work. Each production is re-created afresh at different sites through collaboration with local partner organisations. The highly visual, dreamlike nature of the company’s work takes shape through a variety of media including film, sound and modelled landscapes.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
'Marvellously atmospheric, beautifully orchestrated production … Akin to being inside a dark, dreamy film…. sublime.' The Times (Don’t Look Back)

‘Thrilling production… Sharps and team have done the Russian master proud.'  Evening Standard (Underground)

‘dreamthinkspeak have here confirmed their reputation as one of Britain's most fascinating theatre groups.' The Scotsman (Don’t Look Back)

CURRENT PRODUCTION
Don’t Look Back Based on Orpheus and Eurydice, a heightened, dreamlike journey through rooms, corridors and stairwells, echoing with sounds, shadows, whispers, musical fragments and fleeting film images. (50 mins in 5 min loops, 5 on the road, site-specific.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
One Step Forward, One Step Back Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, this major site-specific work designed for landmark historical buildings at the heart of a city, asks the question: what is paradise? (60 mins in repeated loop, 5 on the road, site-specific.)

The Rest is Silence A vibrant version of Hamlet for proscenium arch theatres, interweaving a variety of media within a multi-faceted set, accessing the private thoughts and chambers of each protagonist via live video links. (120 mins, 10 on stage, 15 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Workshops that explore theatre as an ensemble of media, including performance, film, light and sound. There are also opportunities for locally-based performers to become directly involved in the productions.
