ARTISTIC POLICY
Charles Linehan’s choreographic vision is one of understated intensity, achieved through the marriage of movement, light and music and informed by an economy of means. His work speaks of the quality and nature of human interaction; detailed and intimate it can be described as miniaturist. He values craft and originality and his performers are vital contributors to the creation and performance of the work with their individual human qualities and technical excellence brought equally into play.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
’There is a seductiveness in Linehan's confident choreographic voice that satisfies the rational senses and beguiles the irrational.’ Irish Times

‘Impressive, intelligent, thought-provoking choreography… Charles Linehan’s subtle atmospheric dances thrive on implication, on the elusive emotional undercurrents of human interaction.’ Time Out

‘Conjures a theatre experience that is original, visually stimulating and intellectually satisfying… Linehan is the real thing.’ Ballett International, Tanz Aktuel

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Happy Days Inspired by the music of composer Jim O’Rourke (Sonic Youth), this trio is a bittersweet replaying of past events with belated insight; a work of choreographic rigour and enigmatic simplicity with a powerful emotional undertow. (25 mins, 5 on the road.)

The Way Station A duet for Rahel Vonmoos and Greig Cooke accompanied by live music from music collective Belgradeyard SoundSystem using double bass and samples. Processes of reduction and expansion, the distilled and the magnified, lie at the heart of this work and are played out in the relationship between performers, lighting and music. (25 mins, 4 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Linehan and members of his company can deliver workshops, masterclasses and residencies, providing an insight into the company’s creative process. These are suitable for students and professional practitioners. Residencies can lead to the development of choreographic material by the participants.
