ARTISTIC POLICY
Bonachela Dance Company is a dynamic new touring company, working collaboratively across art forms and disciplines to develop a highly innovative new language and context for contemporary dance, under the artistic direction of acclaimed choreographer Rafael Bonachela. Founded on Bonachela’s interest in the physicality and emotional impulse of the body, the company brings together artists from diverse practices to create revolutionary new work which makes each performance an extraordinary experience.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Voices Contains two contrasting pieces. Set Boundaries is a collaboration with composer, Matthew Herbert, visual artist Lenka Clayton and theatre designer Alan Macdonald. /aót∫ak/ is inspired by Luciano Berio´s Naturale. (75 mins with interval, 6 on stage, 10 on the road.)

Square Map of Q4 Bonachela’s choreography has a powerful muscularity combined with an acute emotional sensitivity. Juxtaposing this intense physicality with hi-tech imagery, his outstanding international cast explore how memories form humanity. (80 mins with interval, 7 on stage, 11 on the road.)

Mixed Bill Various award winning works, including duets, solos and group works, including Place Prize winning E2 7SD, Soledad and Irony of Fate. Programme length and number of dancers dependent on works selected.

WRAP-AROUND
Pre- or post-performance talks for a general audience. Workshops for students age 15+ studying dance, including warm up, teaching of sequences, and task-based choreographic activities, plus masterclasses for professional dancers.
