The current edition is more expanded and extinguished than the previous edition as it discusses the modern reform movements in the Arabic World .The author stresses the fact that we should not be tricked with fake enlightenment .We have to exert our utmost efforts to achieve real enlightenment that rests on reason , logic , scientific thinking and objective evaluation that is not subject to personal bias ,whims ,presuppositions and fallacies that follow norms and traditions .The author provided examples of models of fake enlightenment through the comparisons of many figures in the ream of historical research , literary criticism ,and cinema. The book concludes with the smart man's guide to reform sought in Egypt in the face of global calls for reform.
